Shannon Mehls, Brokerage Manager and OSJ at JA Counter, recently attended the highly-acclaimed Financial Service Institute’s (FSI) Financial Advisor Summit in Washington, D.C. Shannon joined other leading independent financial advisors and compliance professionals from across the country in an effort to deepen education and skills that will help clients realize their financial goals.
“FSI’s Financial Advisor Summit is invaluable,” Shannon said. “This one-of-a-kind conference was an incredible opportunity for us to attend sessions on succession planning, technology trends, health and wellness, tips and tools for increasing production, investor behavior, working with aging clients and much more.”
Attendees also heard from keynote speakers Tim Sanders, former Yahoo! executive and best-selling author; Susan Axelrod, Executive Vice President, Regulatory Operations at FINRA; and Andy Friedman, Washington D.C. political expert. These speakers help advisors and compliance professionals stay up-to-date on current regulatory and legislative trends, and provide a platform for advocacy to ensure clients continue to have access to affordable, objective financial advice to help them plan for retirement, pay for their children’s education and care for aging parents.
“We are very pleased to have Shannon as an engaged member,” said FSI President & CEO Dale Brown. “Conscientious compliance professionals like Shannon help bring real-life experience to our advocacy efforts. We plan to work closely with Shannon as we advocate for independent financial advisors and the hard-working clients they serve.”
